Biography
Caitlin Danton (b. 2001, New Jersey) is a multimedia artist based on the East Coast, currently pursuing a degree in Visual Arts at Montclair State University. She has been creating art from a young age, exploring various forms from elementary school onward, and began approaching her practice with greater focus during the end of high school and into college.
Danton’s work spans painting, drawing, photography, digital media, collage, and bookmaking. She has created work for and helped curate student-led exhibitions, including Metamorphosis and Elevate, collaborating with peers to shape the presentation and dialogue of each show. Her practice is influenced by artists such as Ed Ruscha, Francesca Woodman, Todd Hido, and Barbara Takenaga, whose work inspires her exploration of emotion, identity, and perception.
Through formal training in photography, drawing, and painting, Danton continues to refine her technical skills while pushing the boundaries of her multimedia practice. Her art emphasizes connection—between imagery, ideas, and viewers—while inviting reflection on symbolism and the human experience.
